Who we are

This benefits bot uses the experimental API at MissingBenefit.com, made by Tom Loosemore using the Replit AI coding environment.

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THE CALCULATIONS. They've all been created by AI, so they will doubtless be wrong in ways large, small and subtle.

It is an independent, non-commercial tool intended for experimental purposes only. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by HM Government, the Department for Work and Pensions, or any other government body. The service is provided free of charge for informational purposes only.

What data is processed

When you use this bot, the fictional test data you provide through the questionnaire is sent to the MissingBenefit.com API for calculation. This may include:

- date of birth and age

- relationship status and household composition

- income, savings, and employment details

- housing circumstances

- health and disability information

- caring responsibilities

- immigration status

- postcode (used to determine local council area)

How data is handled

Your answers are sent to the server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection for the duration of the calculation only. They are processed in server memory, never written to a database, and discarded as soon as the results are returned. No record of individual calculations is retained.

We will never sell, share, rent, or commercialise any data. Information is not used for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

Special category data

Some information — such as health conditions, disability and caring responsibilities — is classed as "special category data" under the UK GDPR and requires a higher standard of protection. You are not required to answer any health or disability questions — you can skip them and still receive estimates for benefits that do not depend on that information.

Links to GOV.UK

Results may include links to GOV.UK and other government websites. These links take you to services run by HM Government or the devolved administrations. No data is sent to them when you click a link. Once you leave this app, the privacy policy of the destination site applies.

Cookies

This app uses a session cookie to maintain your questionnaire progress. We do not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

Your data protection rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port, and object to processing of your personal data. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights.
